One of my gardening clients junked a chainsaw which I salvaged and rebuilt replacing the crankshaft bearings and piston. Yesterday I received an IPL for the saw and noticed they use a special sealant “Dirko HT red”. I used Permatex “The Right Stuff” which forms a rubberized gasket for valve covers, oil pans, etc, and is good to 450 F continuous.
