The H.18 is designed to be used with burs with a shank diameter of only 2.35mm (3/32″). To change accessories, all that is required is a single press of the lever action. Pre-lubricated ball bearings that do not require any maintenance make this a very comfortable tool to use. Size: 7″ long, 19/32” dia., weight 3.65 ounces, shipping weight 4.45 ounce. This handpiece is a member of the Foredom system of “Interchangeable Handpieces.” I have a knock off version of a different Foredom quick change handpiece, as well as this handpiece. After two years of heavy use, the off-brand product has proven to be reliable. This handpiece was used for light duty for approximately 5 months before one of the bearings failed (which is out of warranty). I’m not sure there’s any compelling reason to purchase an accessory bearing their brand name in the future.
