A neighbor asked me to see if I could find an chinese aftermarket carb for his old -Stihl 009 since I had good luck with the one on my 024. Fit the bar and chain and cut some wook to get the carb to draw in more fuel and air under load.After all this, empty out the fuel tank,mix up a regular tank of fuel and run the saw to clear out the excess oil. Joe don’t even know a 009 carb don’t have a primer bulb.
When i fired it up it would start and idle but when revved up it dies after about 3 – 5 seconds. I’m gonna get a new filter but figured i’d also rebuild the carb since this saw has seen some serious abuse and neglect.
