There is no cordless “hammer drill” that I have used that is as good as the DeWalt SDS. In order to drill holes in concrete or stone it only takes seconds. If you want to break up concrete with it, that can be a little too much. I was moving the shower drain in our bathroom when I saw grease on the chisel. When I took it out, there was no grease on it. I could be wrong, but I found out that grease shouldn’t be coming out of the chuck. It could mean that it got too hot and broke a seal. DeWalt does have a 90-day, no questions asked warranty on new products that come with a warranty card. To fix or replace it, I just take it to a service center and they do it for free. So we’ll find out.
Because I didn’t think I’d use it for so much concrete work, I gave it five stars. The shower drain can go right through a pier, not the five-inch slab I thought it would. Also, they’ll fix it for free.
