When deburring and chamfering openings to pre-drilled holes, the BOSCH counter-sink line is a great tool to have on hand. Excellent for electrical, plumbing, and heating and air conditioning contractors. Countersinks from BOSCH cut a wide range of materials cleanly and precisely. These countersinks perform admirably in even the most difficult materials, thanks to the use of standard high-speed steel and super hard titanium-coated bits.
The Manufacturer’s Statemen.
In order to increase flexibility and reduce brittleness, the Hawera bits have steel bodies that have been annealed. Then they’re shot peened to tighten the surface and prevent it from breaking as a result of twisting and torquing during the manufacturing process. All bits meet or exceed I.S.O. standards to a degree of 90-100 percent.
My [ASIN:B003DQO7ES Bosch RH328VC 1-1/8-Inch SDS Rotary Hammer]] is equipped with these bits, which I use to drill concrete. They have about the same durability as the Bosch branded SDS drill bits (I honestly can’t tell if they drill longer or shorter, so let’s just say they’re equal in durability), but cost about half as much as the Bosch branded drill bits. I’ve been extremely pleased with them, and I’ve since purchased several more Hawera-branded items as a result of my initial experience with these specific pieces. They come highly recommended by me.
You could always use more durability, which is the only reason for the four-star rating rather than the five-star rating. It would be nice if they were somehow magically less expensive than Bosch drill bits while also being more long lasting.
