Exhaust systems, engines, water pumps, fuel pumps, and radiators are all excellent applications for the Chicago Pneumatic 1/2-Inch Drive Heavy Duty Air Ratchet. This ratchet has an ergonomic, square handle design that makes it easy to hold in your hand comfortably. The high-efficiency 0.5-horsepower motor produces up to 50 ft/lbs of torque. Also included with this model is an anti-slip head that prevents slippage and a teasing throttle that allows for precise throttle control. It is approximately ten inches in length on average.
Compared to other wrenches, it may have a lower torque, but if the way it feels in your hand is any indication, the quality of its construction is excellent. Very solid, all-metal construction, and not too loud to necessitate the use of hearing protection. It’s probably 50-60 decibels at a distance of 2-3 feet.
I hooked it up to my own airtool fittings and fired it up, and it worked perfectly. I’ll post an update as soon as I begin working on some automotive projects.
