Low noise operation and high torque performance are two characteristics of the Chicago Pneumatic 1/2-Inch Drive Quiet Air Ratchet. Noise levels as low as 79 dBA can be achieved with the adjustable noise control. Using the Tri-Spring ratchet head, you can achieve working torque ranging from 10 to 90 ft/lbs at 90 psi. The ratchet is lightweight and well-balanced, and it operates on a 0.5 horsepower motor that consumes only five cubic feet per minute of air.

An excellent 1/2 in. air ratchet, in my opinion. I have a good set of 1/2-inch impact sockets as well as a good impact gun on hand.

In addition to getting more mileage out of my existing impact sockets, especially the smaller sockets, this 1/2 ratchet was a good investment.

Here are a few things to know about this ratchet.

As far as strength goes for something of this size, 90lbs of torque is about as good as it gets.

– Because it’s long, you can get pretty deep into it.

– Because the head is covered in plastic, if you’re a restorer, you won’t have to worry about this ratchet banging abrasively into anything.

– As far as air tools go, this ratchet is relatively quiet.

As a disadvantag.

– The head of this ratchet is not particularly small, and it is fairly typical for a 1/2 ratchet in terms of size. However, because of this, I occasionally wish I had a 3/8 impact socket set as well as a 3/8 ratchet. In other words, if you do a lot of precision work with smaller sockets and are looking for an air tool, make sure that this 1/2 ratchet will fit into all of the tight spaces you’ll be working in.

It should be noted that Chicago Pneumatic is no longer a US company; I believe they were purchased by someone outside the country.

Overall, this is a very sturdy ratchet that is quiet and dependable.
