Powered by an industrial air oil lubrication system with a belt drive. The oil-lubricated belt drive technology in this 20-gallon air compressor allows for quieter operation and lower noise levels than direct drive air compressors. To ensure maximum portability, pneumatic tires have been installed. Cast iron construction, a V-twin cylinder, and an oil-lubricated pump are some of the features. Oil level indicator, easy access oil fill, and a 10-inch cast iron balanced flywheel round out the package. Heavy-duty induction motor with dual voltage capability. This motor is wired for a standard 120-Volt outlet but can be converted to a 240-Volt application. With a quick-set regulator, tank and tool pressure gauges, a quick connect air outlet, and an on/off switch, this unit is ready to go in seconds. Wow, writing this review was a difficult task. Basically, I bought this because I needed more air flow for my plasma cutter than what my small compressor could provide. The horizontal form factor was chosen primarily for its stability. A vertically oriented version of the same compressor is also available. IL1682066.MN Industrial Air IL1682066.M. Pros.
It is constructed with quality materials. There is very little plastic anywhere on it, and it is of excellent quality.
It runs relatively quietly, certainly quieter than the small 3 gal. hotdog compressor that I currently own from Sears.
Made in the United States of America from domestic and international components.
Because the motor has two cylinders, it can run at a slower speed, extending its life.
I can easily get to the tank drain with only a little effort. That appears to be a common source of complaint with my other compressors.
Cons.
The only “con” for me was that it arrived in a damaged state. Although everything worked out in the end, I’d buy this compressor again if the opportunity arose again.
I will say that Amazon has been a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process.
