I was on the fence about whether or not to purchase this one..
We ordered this one from Amazon because Harbor Freight had one in stock but none in the store, so we were able to get away with it.
This thing is going to shake the bejesus out of the concrete. The brushes that came with it are a little meh, and you can smell them cooking off when you run it, so it’s unclear how long they’ll last. The concrete I was pouring footers for was going to be hidden beneath an existing slab, so I fired this up and dropped it in..it’ll bring up air bubbles extremely quickly and smooth out the pour in under a minute. A footer that measures 18″ x 18″ x 24″ has an incredible amount of air gap..and the previous pour had some pretty large inclusions, which is why they’re being redone right now.
When you only use it a few times, it is extremely inexpensive insurance that pays for itself after the first use..there is no way you could achieve even a fraction of the same level of performance by hammering on one side of the form.
