cement is mixed with dry cement.
Dry mortar can be mixed together.

A year and a half ago, we bought this for our contracting business. We’ve used it a lot. Some time ago, the mixing paddle broke and there isn’t any way to get a new one.
We bought a Rubimix 9 mixer today. It comes with a chuck and an adapter. There is good news: This adapter works with the Nordstrand. It costs $20 to buy the chuck on the internet, and it makes this mixer work with commercially available 1/2″ mixing paddles. We now use it to mix paint.
If you buy a Rubi new, it costs $140 (I just bought a used one for $75). The Nordstrand isn’t as good as the Rubi. Nordstrand was good for the $60 we paid, but the Rubi is better and can use all of the mixing paddles that we bought at the store.
