All of these tools are M18 Fuel brushless, just as advertised. However, be sure to double-check the model numbers. Milwaukee manufactures several different grades of each type of tool in its product line. The small circular saw and the Sawsall are both considered to be entry-level models. If I had done a more thorough check, I would not have chosen this kit.
Then there’s a really important fact to consider. Milwaukee may be unable to honor the warranty on the tools in question. This is something I know for a fact because the first time I used that really cheaply made small circular saw, it broke completely. I figured it wouldn’t be a problem because there is a Milwaukee service center close to where I live and work. I included it with my Amazon invoice when I submitted it. The problem became apparent at that point. Milwaukee is not represented by Amazon as an authorized dealer. Now I understand why so many advertisements on Amazon refer to the company as “Milwaukee’s. I suppose this is a ruse to avoid having to deal with some legal issues. In my particular case, the service center was gracious enough to grant an exception and will replace the saw once it has been repaired. However, they stated that no warranty service should be expected for a tool purchased from Amazon.
That cheap little 6 1/2-inch saw will most likely die before two batteries have been used with it, regardless of how well it is built.
The bottom line is to shop carefully and decide whether or not Amazon is the best place to purchase Milwaukee-related items. I’m well aware that I’ve made the decision to shop locally from now on.
