It’s true that “variable speed” is somewhat accurate, but it’s only variable between medium and high speeds. For those of you who are accustomed to more expensive drills that allow you to simply creep the bit around at first to mark the hole, this will not make you happy, at least not until you have a center punch to mark the location first. Aside from that, it has a good amount of heft and appears to be a high-quality tool. So far, there have been no complaints. Definitely a good investment, in my opinion.
