A more advanced version of our original series random orbital sander, the 3M Elite Random Orbital Sanders are available. They provide professional performance and a swirl-free finish in high-production industrial environments where dust extraction is not required. They are also available with a vacuum option. All of the features on the Elite series palm sanders have been upgraded in order to improve their overall durability, performance, and operator comfort. Increased comfort and leverage are provided by improved wrist support. Accidental speed changes are reduced thanks to a safer thumb-operated speed control wheel. The aluminum housing adds durability and reduces vibration, and the durable composite cover helps to prevent cracked housings from forming in the future. Because of the internal muffler, this elite series pneumatic random orbital sander is 6 decibels quieter than the previous series. A Stikit disc pad is included with this 6 inch random orbital sander, allowing the operator to quickly and easily apply adhesive-backed discs to the sanding tool without the need for any additional tools. Pneumatic orbital sanders from 3M are designed to optimize the performance of 3M abrasives. They feature speed control and a low-profile, balanced design to ensure optimum performance. The 3/16″ diameter orbit provides a moderate cut rate and a fine finish on a variety of materials including metal, composites, wood, and others. The unit operates at 90 psi and has a maximum air flow rate of 17 SCFM.

The ergonomic rubber grip with 3M Gripping Material, curved-throttle alloy steel lever, and built-in wrist support allow for comfortable control, while the recessed lever platform eliminates pinch and pressure points on the operator’s palm while operating the machine. The speed control dial is conveniently located on the side of the vehicle and is operated with the thumb. With a composite cover that extends all the way to the base, the lighter-weight tool is able to absorb and reduce vibration while also preventing cracked housings, and the internal muffler helps to reduce noise and will not break off.
Designed for wood, metal prep for paint, fiberglass and composite materials, and a variety of other substrates, 3M Elite Non-Vacuum Random Orbital Sanders provide the best sanding and surface preparation results. These industrial-grade tools, also known as dual action (D/A) sanders, rotate the abrasive disc and disc pad in two simultaneous overlapping oval patterns so that no single abrasive particle follows the same path twice.
