Description of the Produc.
We have upgraded our original series vacuum sanders to the 3M Elite Vacuum Random Orbital Sanders, which can be found here. They are designed for use in high-production industrial environments that require dust extraction and provide professional performance and a swirl-free finish. Cleaning up dust from the workpiece and surrounding area allows for better sanding performance thanks to the 3M Clean Sand system. The sander makes use of the inlet air to create its own venturi vacuum, which extracts dust and expels it through a large collection port into the included clean sanding filter bag after it has been thoroughly cleaned. All of the features on the Elite series palm sanders have been upgraded in order to improve their overall durability, performance, and operator comfort. Increased comfort and leverage are provided by improved wrist support. Accidental speed changes are reduced thanks to a safer thumb-operated speed control wheel. The aluminum housing adds durability and reduces vibration, and the durable composite cover helps to prevent cracked housings from forming in the future. Because of the internal muffler, this elite series pneumatic random orbital sander is 6 decibels quieter than the previous series. The 3/16″ diameter orbit provides a moderate cut rate and a fine finish on a variety of materials including metal, composites, wood, and others. The Hookit hook and loop disc pad that comes with the sanding tool allows the operator to quickly and easily apply and re-apply hook and loop discs to the sanding tool without the use of additional tools. Here’s what you’ll find in the box. 3M Elite Vacuum Random Orbital Sander, Hookit clean sanding disc pad, Hookit clean sanding filter bag and bag adapter, hose seal, air tool lubricant, and a 24mm pad wrench are all included in the package. The unit operates at 90 psi and has a maximum air flow rate of 17 SCFM.

Designed to optimize the performance of 3MTM abrasives, this best-in-class tool from 3M has a 6″ diameter for broader coverage and an orbit with a 3/16″ radial depth that is ideal for general-purpose sanding. Made possible by a powerful 0.28 HP precision-balanced motor and a durable lightweight aluminum housing, this ergonomically designed workhorse is tough enough to handle industrial production while reducing user fatigue for long periods of time.
The Elite SGV sander is a critical component of the 3MTM Clean Sanding system, which includes the SGV tool, Clean Sanding disc pad, and Clean Sanding disc (all of which are sold separately). The system is designed to effectively eliminate dust from the workpiece and surrounding space. It makes use of the inlet air to create its own venturi vacuum, which extracts dust from the work surface and expels it through a large collection port on the back of the tool into a 3MTM filter bag, which can be replaced. The 3M Clean Sanding filter bag that comes with the tool achieves superior HEPA-rated dust collection thanks to an air filter inside the bag that locks dust away and effectively retains it for disposal, while also being easy to clean.

The use of an extended curved wrist rest reduces stress on the hand and wrist while also providing extra leverage.
The recessed lever platform eliminates pinch and pressure points on the operator’s palm as a result of the lever’s position.
Operator preference can be accommodated by three different grip sizes. The tool has a grip diameter of 2-3/4″, with two additional grip sizes available (diameters of 2-1/2″ and 3″, both sold separately) to accommodate different hand sizes.

The rubber grip absorbs and reduces vibration, and it is made with 3MTM Gripping Material, which provides a stronger grip and greater control while exerting less force.

There is one 6″ 3MTM HookitTM Clean Sanding Low Profile Disc Pad 20356 included with the purchase of this sander, which is recommended for flat sanding operations with 6″ Hookit discs (sold separately). The disc pad, which was created specifically to optimize the performance of this tool, maximizes dust extraction while simultaneously minimizing vibration for smooth operation. The 3M proprietary hole pattern reduces swarf in the middle of the pad and improves disc performance and life by increasing the number of holes in the pad. The Hookit system, which provides convenience and versatility, allows for simple disc changeouts and the use of Scotch-BriteTM discs in addition to coated abrasive Hookit discs (both sold separately).
How to Make Use of Your Pneumatic Sande.
This tool is designed to be used as a handheld device and is powered by compressed air. The air compressor must be capable of supplying a clean, lubricated air supply at an airflow rate of 17 standard cubic feet per minute (SCFM), or 481 liters per minute (LPM), and 90 pounds per square inch (psi) at the tool, which is the point at which the air hose is connected to the tool, when the tool is running and with the level fully depressed when the level is fully depressed. Airline with a maximum length of 25 feet that has been approved for 3/8 inch (10 mm) diameter and the shortest length required for the application is highly recommended (8 m). Please refer to the Instruction Manual for more information on how to connect the tool to your air supply. At 90 psi, the maximum rotational speed is 12,000 rpm.
