Dust isn’t an issue with the 3M Elite Air-Powered Random Orbital Sander 28562 because it has a self-generated vacuum (SGV). It does a good job for hours on end in high-production industrial environments where dust extraction is needed. A best-in-class tool made by 3M that works best with 3MTM abrasives, it has a 6″ diameter for more coverage and a 3/8″ orbit for the most aggressive sanding applications, where getting rid of material is more important than getting a good finish. An important part of the 3MTM Clean Sanding system is the Elite SGV sander. This tool is meant to be used as a handheld tool and is powered by air. Air compressor: It needs to be able to provide a clean, lubricated air supply with an airflow rate of 17 standard cubic feet per minute (SCFM), or 481 liters per minute (LPM), and 90 pounds per square inch (psi) at the tool, which is where the air hose is connected. When the tool is running with the level fully depressed, it needs an air compressor that can meet these requirements. It’s best to use an approved 3/8 inch (10 mm) air line at the minimum length needed for the job, with a maximum length of 25 feet (8 m). 3M has a professional tool with good ergonomics that can be used all day in a production setting. Since I started working in automotive refinishing three years ago, I have used the Cubitron Elite 3/32″ orbit DA and the Cubitron Elite 3″ 1/8” orbit pistol. I haven’t had to do a lot of maintenance on them, and they still work great. This Wednesday is the 3/8 “It is good to use a sander when you need to get a panel down to bare metal quickly but still be able to feather out multiple layers of a coating and not cause damage. The same unit was given to me by the aerospace facility where I work. They are old tools that still work well.
