This sander from 3M is a best-in-class tool that is designed to optimize the performance of 3MTM Abrasives. It has a 1/8″ sanding disc “With an orbit diameter that is ideal for flat surface finishing and sealer sanding, and a rectangular 2-and-a-half-by-seven-and-a-quarter-inch (70-by-198-mm) pad that allows access to corners of a workpiec. It is an excellent choice for sanding and surface preparation on a variety of substrates, including wood, metal, fiberglass, and composite materials, among others. How to Make Use of Your Pneumatic Sande.
This tool is designed to be used as a handheld device and is powered by compressed air. The air compressor must be capable of supplying a clean, lubricated air supply at an airflow rate of 17 standard cubic feet per minute (SCFM), or 481 liters per minute (LPM), and 90 pounds per square inch (psi) at the tool, which is the point at which the air hose is connected to the tool, when the tool is running and with the level fully depressed when the level is fully depressed. Airline with a maximum length of 25 feet that has been approved for 3/8 inch (10 mm) diameter and the shortest length required for the application is highly recommended (8 m). Please refer to the Instruction Manual for more information on how to connect the tool to your air supply. At 90 psi, the maximum OPM is 10,000.

The fact that sand scratches appear again after a day or two when the primer, paint, or clear has had time to soak in is not pleasant in my line of work (painter at an auto collision shop), to say the least. After purchasing one of these and customizing it to meet my requirements, it blocks just as well as hand blocking, and does so faster and more smoothly. When the material does soak up, the scratches are hardly noticeable anymore. This is a fantastic tool!
