I believe they are so expensive because they are built to last a lifetime and require very little in the way of maintenance or replacement parts. According to Dale, who stated in one of their videos, they have been manufacturing these for more than a century and are still unsure of the half-life of these substances.
Having said that, because these are simple machines, it was difficult to resist the temptation to save money by purchasing a larger press that was manufactured overseas. There isn’t much room for error when it comes to these things. So while I am confident that I purchased high-quality goods and am willing to pay a premium for products that are American-made (and well-made), the price is difficult to justify. At the end of the day, I don’t have buyers’ remorse. I’m confident that I’ll have this for the rest of my life and will be able to pass it on.
