The counterbored drills are used to ensure that the fixing screws are perfectly aligned and that the movement is flawless. The base has a diameter of 105 mm. Jaw Width: 75 millimeter. I rarely ever return items, but this one will be returned to the sender as soon as it is received by UPS. I tried everything I could to get through this work. Despite the fact that it had been coated in oil when it arrived, there was some flash rust in places, which was easily removed with a little WD40. The vise was completely disassembled in order to thoroughly clean it and attempt to resolve the one major problem, which was the main vise tensioning screw, which was binding badly when turned. Due to the screw end not being perfectly flat, and the bushing that was secured in the jaw turning slightly off-center, this problem was encountered and corrected. If this had happened, the only solution would have been to mill the end of the screw to a perfectly flat surface (which I thought about doing). It should, at the very least, have worked after being cleaned up, but it didn’t. Additionally, the design is difficult to center. I should have just gone out and bought a four-jaw to begin with..which is exactly what I just did.
