I have installed hardwood floors in my home on a periodic basis, and I have always rented the flooring nailer for the job. The cost of renting a gun for two weeks would have been comparable to the cost of purchasing this gun this time because I had several hundred feet of flooring to lay down part-time in the evenings. It was a fantastic experience. I put down over 2000 nails and the only mis-feed was caused by me hitting the plunger with my finger instead of the plunger hitting the nail. When it comes to performance, the gun is light, sturdy, and simple to load (I used both Bostich and Dewalt flooring cleats with excellent results). It also works flawlessly. In comparison to the expensive rental nailers I’ve used in the past, this one performed significantly better. Base plate indexing is simple, and I did not have a single face nail from slippage while using it. If you stand it up and then knock it over, it will discharge, but this is due to operator error rather than a flaw in the nailer.
