Needlescaler is extremely effective at removing rust, paint, and other contaminants. It can quickly and easily bring metal down to a bare smooth paintable surface in a matter of minutes. Unfortunately, mine became extremely hot very quickly. After about 10 minutes, the temperature reached a point where flesh could be burned. The maximum amount of time that can be used is 30 minutes. As a result of this problem, it eventually overheated. The top cap, which screws in over the needles to allow access to the internals, was also loose and would not tighten no matter how hard I tried. The only way I could keep it together was with gorilla tape. It also lost three needles in the 5-10 hours of use that I was able to get out of it.
