I looked up the price of this tool because I was curious about it. Almost 40 years have passed since I purchased one of these “right angle” drills, and it is still a functional tool in my shop. My original purpose for purchasing it was as a plumbing apprentice, in order to drill holes for 1/2″, 3/4″, 1″, 1-1/4″, 1-1/2″, and 2″ pipe. I don’t use it very often anymore because I don’t install plumbing pipes in walls and I don’t have much need to drill large holes, but when I do, I am grateful that I have this drill available. I’m relieved that this drill is still available. The drill’s neck has two bolts on it, which can be loosened to allow for the head to be rotated as shown in the picture they have provided. Then, of course, you have to tighten those bolts up even more. This drill should be operated in the safest manner by loosening those two nuts and turning the head 90 degrees, while looking down, as shown in the illustration. In this manner, if the drill bit becomes stuck and the drill motor lunges out of your hand, your thumb will not become entangled in the handle of the drill. Furthermore, if you are drilling between studs, the motor will rest against the stud closest to you, preventing your hand from getting in the way. As a result, if there is no stud to brace the drill against, you must hold the drill away from your body to avoid injury if the bit becomes stuck and the motor rotates out of your hand. This is why I’ve never been hurt because I follow these precautions. I would strongly recommend this tool to anyone working in the construction industry, particularly plumbers and electricians.
