This particular model DA was purchased by me in 1988. The bearing finally gave up the ghost on August 15, 2017. For an air tool, this isn’t too shabby. One of the most underappreciated and reasonably priced DA’s on the market, this is a solid performer. It is extremely quiet, consumes very little air (4.4cfm) when compared to other models, and is extremely smooth and comfortable to operate on.
Exactly for this reason, I was overjoyed to discover that Sunex was still manufacturing this model. If this one survives another 29 years, it will outlive me by a long shot. I’ve worked for Hutchins and Dynabrade, as well as a few other well-known companies. I still believe that this DA is the best value for money.
