Small depth cuts can be made with this tool with precision. This was used for hardwood floor trimming and drywall cuts after the floors were installed. When using a depth guide, the chances of damaging in-wall components are reduced, and when cutting into installed drywall, the chances of damaging in-wall components are reduced. Plenty of power – the safety lock took some getting used to, and because of the safety lock, it is not as user friendly for simple edge-to-edge cuts – I prefer the Genesis circular saw for cuts that do not necessitate the use of a plunger. Perhaps I didn’t require both – but I went ahead and purchased them anyway. A couple of points of contention. 1. The blade guard is made of plastic, and I’m not sure it will withstand the rigors of daily use. 2. The depth setting clip does not appear to be particularly durable, and this saw will not function properly if it is not present – I anticipate that I will need to replace it on an ongoing basis. The rip guide shown in pictures 5, 6, and 7 does not come with the product. The fact that I purchased both saws was probably due to the fact that it would be a great deal to have the rip-fence included for use with both saws – I believe they are referring to the tiny T-shaped guide shown in the pictures, rather than the track (reduction of one star for confusing description)
