I tried it out because they claimed it was quiet compared to other air drills, and they were absolutely correct; this thing is extremely quiet when compared to others I have either used or heard in the past, which is a nice surprise. This air drill, like all air drills I’ve used, lacks torque, which means it can’t be used to drill screws. However, it appears to be suitable for drilling holes in metal and some soft woods. In wood, the smaller the drill bit, the better the results. I’ve used this drill to drill several larger holes in metal and have been very pleased with it; it’s lightweight and simple to operate. Usually, I’m drilling pilot holes in wood to accommodate screws, and I’ve found that using smaller drill bits works well. The larger drill bits appear to slow it down in wood, and it may even come to a halt at times. Another reason I purchased this was because of the keyless chuck, which appears to be in good working condition. The chuck appears to be able to hold onto smaller drill bits, such as the 1/16″, with relative ease. Overall, I am extremely pleased with my purchase and intend to look into other Air Cat air tools in the future for additional applications.
