Once the initial cut was made and the base of the tool came into contact with the granite countertop, this tool collected all of the dust that was created while making a cutout in the granite. I wrapped some tape around the circular opening on the side of the cabinet to keep the dust contained.

Making the connection between the unit and the angle grinder proved to be a difficult task. As soon as I tightened down the worm drive clamp, the plastic housing became entangled with the angle grinder’s backing plate and would not move. Eventually, I had to file the plastic housing down to make it the same size as the collector’s metal backing plate. That was the final nail in the coffin.

Because the worm drive clamp does not have the same width as the L-brackets, when you tighten the clamp, it twists away from the edge of the angle grinder that is clamped to the clamp. Because of this, the collector does not sit flush against the angle grinder. I ended up temporarily filling the gap with a screwdriver so that it wouldn’t twist, and this helped to keep things in proper alignment.
