This is a very good hammer for the money, especially at this price. Small, light blacksmithing (jewelry and small knives) is all that I do, and this hammer is much easier on my wrists than an even larger hammer. Although the head is good and hard, I find the handle to be a good fit for my hand. If I had a need for more than one of these hammers, I would purchase several of them.

I’m actually able to accomplish the same amount of work with this light hammer as I can with a 2.5-pound hammer. I’m still baffled as to why a light hammer is able to move as much metal as a heavy hammer, but it appears to be true in my experience.

As a side note, you will have to round the corners to your liking, just like you would with any other blacksmith hammer. It is recommended that you leave any hammer unfinished until you have had a chance to polish it up a little bit.
