In addition, I bought this Makita XCV11Z Vacuum for my 18V Cordless Cut-Out Saw, which when used from a ladder needs a vacuum attachment when cutting at ceiling heights of 8 feet, 9 feet, or 10 feet off the ground. If you’re doing this on your own and you don’t want to be tied to a cord, this is the vacuum for you. Only if it comes with the strap in the picture (apparently optional). Hopefully, Amazon will fix this by taking down or renaming the image. There is not a strap for sale on Amazon. As it turns out, the strap of my Bucket Boss bag fits right on.
The hose that comes with this tool has a 38mm I.D., which is about 1-1/2 inches. It doesn’t work with any Makita tools except for the attachments that come with the vacuum. You’ll need to buy one of several Makita adapters and use duct tape. I’m going to buy two and a universal hose kit. Some other brands of power tools that use vacuums and dust collectors don’t work with the hoses I already have because they don’t work with them.
Finally, keep in mind that this vacuum only works with Makita Star symbol batteries that have a 4.0Ah or 5.0Ah capacity. It won’t work with older 3.0Ah batteries.
