In another project, I used this Oscillating Tool to cut a countertop and some wood. It did what I expected it to do. Not as bad as some other reviewers said it was. Worked well: The blade change mechanism worked well. I did buy an adapter so I could use other brands of Oscillating blades with this one.
One good thing about Porter Cable 20v Max tools is that they can be changed a little to work with Black and Decker 20v Max batteries (I am unsure about the DeWalt 20v Max batteries). I have six different B&D 20v Max tools. Because I only had one battery from BD that was 4Ah, I bought a Porter Cable 5Ah battery. I didn’t want to change my new tools until I was sure they worked and that I liked them. I also bought the PC Cordless Oscillating tool, which has the same batteries. I also have a PC reciprocating saw that I changed to work with Black & Decker batteries. In order to charge PC batteries, I changed the BD chargers so that they could also charge PC batteries. With a Dremel tool, it’s easy to make these changes. All you have to do is cut away some plastic. I think it is a shame that the makers of the B&D, PC, and DeWalt tools make small changes to the fit of their batteries in order to make people buy batteries that are otherwise the same. A lot of the tools you need are not made by either B&D or PC. B&D makes yard tools that PC doesn’t make and some cordless tools that B&D doesn’t have. Chumps. It’s time to break the rules..get your Dremel Tool!
