Metabo makes all of my power tools. I find them to be extremely dependable for the jobs that I hire them to do. This torch is fantastic, and it emits a lot of light.
The reason for this company’s average rating was due to the after-sales service they provided to their customers. Despite the fact that the item arrived quickly after payment was received, there was a minor problem with the on/off trigger. It didn’t always turn on and off. As time passed, this steadily deteriorated and became increasingly dangerous ( I had to press the button a few dozen times before the torch would light). The company responded by advising me that I would need to speak with Metabo directly. In response to my contact with Metabo, I was informed that, because the item had been purchased less than 12 months prior, the company was obligated to correct the problem. I attempted to contact the retail company once more, this time through a series of emails, but was never contacted and no one attempted to resolve my issue. Personally, I believe that at this point, it was so close to the end of the 12-month period following the sale that it was easier not to contact me and that they would no longer be liable. I contacted Metabo once more, and they assured me that they would take care of the situation. Soon after, I ran into the area representative at a power tool show, explained what had happened, and he immediately arranged for a replacement.
Overall, I cannot recommend Metabo tools highly enough; everyone at Metabo with whom I have come into contact has been fantastic to work with. However, I would not purchase anything from this company in the future.
