So that I could get rid of my cable, I bought this. The way I thought about it, that meant that it would have a battery built inside of it. Because the marketing image says “2 minutes of cordless use,” I should have known I was wrong the first time I looked at it. Because that number can be very different.
When you unplug a corded glue gun, you can still use it for about two minutes because of residual heat. With a cordless glue gun, you can also use it for about two minutes because of residual heat. That’s all. How this works. When the gun is plugged in, it gets hot. When you take it out of the plug or base, you can’t use it until it cools down. In cold rooms, it won’t last more than 2 minutes.
The gun is fine. In this case, the plastic is very light, and it doesn’t even have any weight to it. If it isn’t docked, it falls pretty quickly. You can’t lay it down all the way on its side because it has little fins on the side to keep it upright. That’s about the only thing it has going for it.
