GLASS BEAD of superior quality is an excellent media for producing smooth, bright, and contamination-free finishes. By peening, these hard round particles smooth out surface roughness and porosity, making them less visible. This aids in the prevention of corrosion, the resistance to rust, staining, and fingerprints, and the creation of a bright and tight new surface. Peening almost any surface (apart from light sheet metal) can improve the appearance and durability of the surface, regardless of whether it will be painted, plated, powder-coated, or left bare. Peening is used to combat stress-raisers that can cause cracks in critical parts, as well as to increase the fatigue resistance of critical parts, thereby delaying fatigue and fatigue corrosion.
