Even more convenient are overhead applications made possible by the new Ramset VIPER4.27 Caliber Strip Powder Tool design. A push/sleeve actuated operation is now possible due to the relocation of the load advance to the inside of the machine. Each time the Viper is fired, the load is advanced in a consistent manner. So that no time is wasted manually resetting or cycling the tool, automatic piston return is implemented. This enables you to work more quickly. A heavy-duty buffer system protects the front end from damage caused by piston overdrive, particularly when the insulation is sprayed on. The open-ended muzzle has been completely redesigned to keep your tool cleaner for a longer period of time. The Simplified Barrel Retention Collar eliminates the need for any tools during the assembly or disassembly of the barrel. The rear collar, which is compatible with the newly designed poles, is connected by a set-screw, which eliminates the need for a manual tightness check.
This is a garbage tool. After 200 rounds, the piston sheared. Because it jammed after the first 20 shots, like the majority of Ramset powder actuated tools, it was lubricated with CLP every 30 rounds. I contacted Ramset, but they refused to send out a replacement piston. They have requested that I send it to an Authorized Service Center (ASC). We’re returning to Hilti!
