This is a new industrial variable speed wet polisher / grinder that we have introduced. For optimal control, this professional unit is equipped with an 800-Watt, 7-Amp variable speed motor and a variable speed dial for easy operation. You can run at speeds ranging from 700 to 3,000 RPM. Once a concrete counter top has been poured, it is most likely that you will want to polish it to bring out its natural beauty and appeal. This Hardin VSP polishing kit, in conjunction with CONCRETE polishing pads, is the ideal combination for this particular application. Hardin VSP polishers are ideal for exposing salt and pepper aggregate, knocking down and leveling, and smoothing out the concrete counter top surface when used in conjunction with lower-grit (50) polishing pads. Then, by working your way through the successive-Grits, you’ll be able to polish your concrete creation to the level of gloss you desire. The pads included in this kit are not granite or marble pads, despite the fact that they are being sold as CONCRETE pads. All of our diamond polishing pads are professional grade, measuring 5 inches in diameter by 3 millimeters in thickness, and made of a harder bond resin that allows the diamonds to be released at the proper rate when working with softer, more abrasive materials. When used in conjunction with the Hardin VSP polisher, our polishing pads will produce a far superior shine to that of standard granite pads currently available on the market. There is a 5-foot 1/4-inch water line attached to this unit, which is located under the polisher. The coupling on the end is made of brass and is designed to be threaded onto a standard garden water hose. Because of the standardized 5/8-Inch-11 UNC spindle thread, it is compatible with the vast majority of attachments available on the market. The operator is protected by a built-in GFCI (ground fault circuit interrupter). A bail handle (also known as a D handle), a side handle, a spindle wrench, and extra carbon brushes are also included with this unit.

When I purchased this item, I was well aware that it was not a professional-grade, long-lasting wet polisher of any kind. Those are almost always significantly more expensive. This was purchased for a specific project. To polish a concrete slab measuring approximately 50 sq. ft. I was fortunate in that I completed the task. When you wet polish, you get a sloppy mess and you get WET. There’s no getting around it. Even though it may not seem like the best idea to use an energized power tool while drenched in water, doing so will result in you feeling electricity pass through your hand as you operate this polisher. When this occurs, it is difficult to remain focused and productive. Then the On/Off switch became stuck and could no longer be used to turn off the tool. It had to be unplugged in order to be turned off. Some other projects arose around the house, such as polishing some newly poured concrete steps in my backyard, which I completed. I was in the midst of the final and most important step when the polisher began making a grinding (metal on metal) noise, smoking, and smelling like it had been burned. That was the end of it. The tool was no longer functional. It completed the task that I required, but I don’t expect much more from it in the future.
