The gun works well. Some people who give bad reviews are complaining because they are comparing this gun to an air nailer. Use this gun to frame things. A jamb here or there isn’t a big deal. I own three. People are having so many jams because they aren’t using the right nails, which is the main reason. You have to use nails made by Dewalt to do this. When it comes to where I live, neither Home Depot nor Lowe’s sells them. In this case, though, I order them from amazon before they are ready. People who work on the jobsite and run out of gas have to deal with that. If you can find a store that sells the dewalt nails you want, you’re in luck. Don’t use nails made with paslode. They will almost always jam. They should be a little bigger than dewalt nails. Great gun, 20v. So these are the pros. A paslode doesn’t need gas, it doesn’t need to be cleaned, and it works faster than a drill. If you’re not patient with the nailer and let the motor rev all the way, the nail will either jam or not shoot right. This is important. If you choose to bump, it works well. Once you get used to it, you won’t think about it. Just learn how to use the tool. This is very easy to do. So why are people so mad about it taking so long. When you hit a knot, there’s a good chance you’ll get stuck. Cons: It’s not easy to buy dewalt nails. Makes sense that Home Depot sells this gun, but not nails, because it makes sense that way. Real clever.
UPDATE****. Paslode nails that come in a clear case and have “black” tips work well with the nailer. I bought them at Lowe’s and they came in a clear case. The clear case that comes with the paslode nailer also comes with a gas canister that is useless. But the nails work great. Remember that if the tips of the nails aren’t black, they’re likely to be green and jam.
