This is one of the best tools I’ve ever purchased, especially considering the price. Freehand cutting is possible with this saw, and the fence is not required. The stand is stable, and the saw is relatively quiet. The only drawback was that I had to remove the outer cover and adjust the alignment to the blade before using it, but even after twenty hours of use, it continues to perform admirably.
