It was purchased as a second CBN wheel with an 80 grit surface. The other one I have is a 180-degree angle. The new wheel spins true and without vibrations, but it is a little narrow when compared to my old one. It is also extremely coarse and removes material at a breakneck pace. I use both of Igor’s sharpening gouges for woodturning. The particles of metal that are emitted by this machine are quite large; therefore, you must work slowly and carefully so that you do not grind your gouge..but it is excellent for shaping tools. In addition, when compared to the 180 grit, it keeps the tool cooler.
