As a proud owner of numerous Bosch power tools, I am completely dissatisfied with this particular tool. It is seriously underpowered; it could not screw a single screw through a 4×4, and it would leave a quarter inch gap between the two pieces of wood. This impact driver literally struggled to remove the same screw as my old Bosch drill, which was the same 18v and which I used on the same 4×4 to screw the same size of screw without a problem. This impact driver does not appear to have the 1600lbs of torque that was stated; instead, it appears to have 800lbs or less. LOUD or SUPER LOUD, that is the question. Neither. Amazingly loud, to the point where I’m not sure I want to continue to test it any further. When the light is turned on, everything is fine; however, I did not care for the fact that you had to press the trigger just a little bit in order for the light to turn on without the camera spinning. Once the light is turned on, everything is fine.
Even though I am always on the lookout for Bosch tools when shopping for a new toy, this particular model was the first to let me down. As previously stated, I own a number of Bosch tools and have never experienced a problem with any of them.
I’m still in disbelief at how awful this tool is. I have since purchased a Bosch 25618-02, which is “weaker” than this model, but it is performing flawlessly and accomplishes everything I require. It has a lot of power, but it isn’t as loud as this one, and the light works perfectly; with just a little pressure on the trigger, the light will come on and the chuck will stop spinning. I’m pleased with my new acquisition.
By the way, I was able to sell this piece of junk for a quarter of its original price within 24 hours of receiving it.
