Sawzalls made by Dewalt have been getting better over time, but this one is more powerful, lighter, and more versatile than the ones made before it. I used to own the 18 volt old school version, and it worked well enough for me. It was still very powerful. But this thing is huge. Make sure you buy good blades and you won’t even need a chainsaw if you live in an area where people walk or ride bikes. I cut down trees that were 10 inches wide and sawed them into sections. I also cut up a lot of thick brush and still had a lot of battery life. Getting the P1 kit is worth the money. You get a 5Ah battery and a charger that can charge 12v and 20v max batteries, so you get both. This is the best cordless tool I’ve used so far. Almost 20 years. I’ve worked in the skilled trades and the construction industry for that long as well.
If you want to use these saws, make sure that you put the right blades in them. Use name brand blades meant for the task they are labelled for. Long pruning blades for cutting trees and bushes, arched thick metal blades for cutting any kind of metal. A lot of people think Lenox and Bosch make the best blades.
