For more than two decades, I’ve worked as a cabinet maker. I’ve experimented with a variety of different brands and types of pencils. Carpenter pencils are my preferred choice because of their flat design and long-lasting quality. I tucked the pencil into the brim of my hat, close to my ear. The pencil is subjected to a variety of conditions such as heat, sweat, drops, vibrations, constant sharpening (I prefer a sharp point), and so on. This product withstood the daily abuse that I subjected it to with flying colors. There were only two pencils that had issues out of the entire pack. One split occurred as a result of sharpening it. It was the other person who was upset about the lead being broken up. On many surfaces, the lead was dark enough to be visible. Even after being wet, the pencils remained intact. It didn’t matter that they had been wet and dried several times. For someone who uses these types of pencils on a regular basis, like myself, this is a significant issue. Overall, I believe that these pencils are a wise investment. It’s true that in many cases you get what you paid for. I wasn’t bothered by the fact that I had to spend a little more to get what I needed.
