IDH182 – 1/4 inch and 1/2 inch diameter. The Socket-Ready impact driver is the most powerful impact driver in its class.

In a bind-up scenario, the Hds183 – kickback control reduces the risk of a sudden rotational torque reaction occurring.

A high clamping force and rapid bit changes are provided by the Hds183 – an upgraded all-metal chuck.

IDH182 – EC Brushless motor that is trouble-fre.

The Bosch CLPK251-181 18V cordless Combo kit is a convenient package that includes two cordless tools that are complementary to one another. The IDH182 1/4 in. and 1/2 in. Socket-ready impact driver, as well as the HDS183 compact tough 1/2 in. Hammer drill/driver, are included in the package. The IDH182 EC Brushless is a brushless motor. 1/4 inch and 1/2 inch are both acceptable. The impact driver with socket-ready capability can switch from 1/4 in. Screwdriver bits to 1/2 in. Sockets are all combined into a single tool with plenty of driving power. A unique solution for contractors, carpenters, and other tradespeople, it allows them to complete their jobs more quickly and efficiently. It has a maximum torque rating of 1,650 in.-Lbs. and a maximum speed of up to 3,200 BPM. Because the HDS183 1/2 in. It is this integrated acceleration sensor that automatically shuts down the tool in the event of a potentially dangerous rotational torque reaction occurring during a bind-up situation. It is engineered with an upgraded, heavy-duty all-metal chuck and an efficient EC Brushless motor, making it an excellent choice for woodworking and metalworking applications. There are two 18V 4.0 Ah fatpack batteries in this kit, as well as an 18V fast charger and two longer belt clips that provide a more secure hold.

I purchased this to replace my 13-year-old Dewalt drill, which is still in good working order. I anticipated that this Bosch set would be a significant upgrade. It’s fine as long as it’s running. However, one of the batteries was completely depleted upon arrival. I contacted Bosch for a replacement, and they assured me that one would be shipped and delivered within 3-4 days. However, nothing arrives, and after 8 days, they contact me to inform me that the item is now indefinitely backordered. When I ask for a replacement in a different size that is compatible, they simply say that they will keep an eye on the backorder. They do not have a timetable for when a replacement will be available. It’s a two-tool set, but only one of the batteries is functional, and I’ve never used the other battery.

Considering how well-publicized your battery replacement policy and warranty are, Bosch should be ashamed of its inability to replace a simple battery at a time when you advertise how great your battery warranty and replacement policy is.

Aside from that, their warranty registration website was down, so I had to call in to get all of the information I needed. But, most importantly, I want a tool that is actually useful.

I intend to update this post as soon as the problem is resolved, or as soon as it is not resolved. However, for the time being, I am unable to recommend anything from Bosch.

Edit: As of November 11, the item is still on indefinite backorder with no estimated delivery date and no offer of assistance other than waiting.

Edit: On November 15, a replacement battery arrived in the mail yesterday, seemingly out of nowhere, just after customer service informed me that they had no update and no ETA. Nevertheless, because the battery I received is incompatible with the charger that came with my kit, it is a complete waste of time. CS is still working on resolving this issue.

Edit: Later in November, I was able to charge the replacement battery by charging it, waiting for an error light to illuminate, disconnecting it for an hour, and repeating the process five times. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT. However, it was successful in the end. If only Bosch had ensured that the new batteries were backwards compatible with the old ones, or provided me with the proper charger.

The one working original battery and the replacement battery are both still operational as of April 2020. I was able to recharge the replacement battery in my original charger to its full capacity. Both the drill and the driver are respectable tools with sufficient power. As a whole, this set is now adequate, but I was expecting something far more than adequate for the price and brand name I paid. I’ll be looking at different brands the next time around.

May 2020 is the deadline for revisions. This time around, the replacement battery will not be able to be recharged using the original charger. It begins charging by blinking green for a few seconds, then blinking red and turning off. This is not changing as a result of repeated cycling. Junk.
