The Gison Wet Air Saw Model GPW-227, measuring 4-1/2 inches in length, is designed to wet cut stone or concrete while using an air compressor in a safe manner. The wet air stone cutter can accept blades up to 4-1/2″ in diameter and can cut a maximum of 1-3/8″ in depth for both 2cm and 3cm stones. It can also accept blades up to 4-1/2″ in diameter.
Our granite counter fabrication company has been using this saw with a 1/4″ tuckpoint blade to cut rod slots in the bottom of the granite counters we fabricate for about a month now. In the past, we had used barranca air grinders, but I was concerned about the depth to which my fabricators were cutting, fearing that they would cut right through the top. This alleviated my concerns, and the guys seem to be enjoying it. It has the necessary power, and it is also simple to operate. This air tool appears to be well-built, according to the person who refurbishes all of our air tools. He also notes that it has an extra bearing on the arbor shaft, which prevents premature gear wear. Since then, we’ve acquired three of these for use in cutting rod slots in the bottoms of granite countertops. We only had one problem, which was a 10-32 screw that we were able to easily fix. The rest of them are in perfect working order. We also ditched the tuck point blade in favor of stacked turbo blades, which are more efficient. It cuts the rod slots out in a surprisingly short amount of time. In my opinion, this is still a 5 star product.
