A premium quality product, Chicago Pneumatic balancers are designed to shift the weight of the tool away from the operator’s arm and into the ground. They relieve stress and fatigue while also aiding in the improvement of productivity. Heavy tools and/or repetitive tasks are well suited for this application. Shaped like a cylinder, it retracts automatically when the load is removed, leaving the working area free.
I went with the refurbished one because it was significantly less expensive; however, it arrived with the steel cord completely removed; this was with supposedly Amazon’s checker, or verified, or something like that. It was too much of a headache for me to attempt to fix it myself, so I returned it. It’s also significantly larger than I anticipated – looking at the picture, I assumed it was 4 inches in diameter (which, of course, was probably stated in the description), but it’s not – it’s a whopping 12 inches in diameter. I ultimately decided to order a new one, which I will review separately (it appears to have arrived in good working condition and functions as expected).
