The Bosch GKF125CE Colt is a variable-speed palm-grip router that has a maximum power of 1.25 horsepower. You can feel the power in your hand. This Bosch Colt Palm Router has a palm-grip design with a soft grip that makes it easy to hold, making it easier to use than bigger routers. But it also has a lot of power, with a 1.25 HP (max) power rating. It’s a lot more than a laminate trimmer. It’s great for rounding over deck planks and railings, mortising hinges, making decorative edges, cutting slots, making window cutouts, and more. The motor has soft-start circuitry, a variable-speed dial, and Constant Response circuitry to keep it going even when there is a lot of weight on it. It has a PR101 fixed base with macro- and micro-fine depth adjustments, as well as a round subbase that can be centered. The GKF125CEN Colt Palm Router comes with the router, a self-releasing collet chuck, and a forged collet chuck wrench that is very comfortable to hold and work with.

I got three units in a row that were all broken.

This is what would happen if you turned the knurled knob while the switch was in the fine adjustment mode (the one with the up and down arrow). There’d be a lot of jams if you turned it the other way. To get it down, there’s no way to.

The depth adjustment lock didn’t do anything, either, so it didn’t work. The knurled knob could still be used to make very small changes.

I don’t know if it’s a design flaw or if it’s just bad quality control. Almost all of the acrylic bases were scratched. The unit didn’t come in a plastic bag or anything else to protect it from damage when it was shipped. So, maybe they’re all used. How did I get a Makita instead? I don’t know. I gave up and bought one.
