To me, it was a big deal that dewalt made this “right hand” worm drive style full-size blade and battery-powered saw for me.

I pre-ordered this saw in September, and I was so excited when it came.

Things I like: This thing is built to last, just like all of my dewalt 20v and 60v tools. This thing looks and feels like it could be dropped from a 60-foot high scaffold and keep working.

There are some good plate and bevel capabilities. There are also good lines of sight and markers. The cutting is very smooth.

Dislikes.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like this before, it is very heavy with the battery in. Unless you remove the battery, I think it weighs about 10.5 pounds without the battery. The 60v batteries aren’t very light. Full of things, this thing weighs about 15-18 pounds. If I could, I’d like to get a new Skillsaw Magnesium, but I don’t think I’ll get rid of my old one just yet. I have the 20v dewalt 6.5 inch blade saw, and I’m very happy with how light it is.

So the biggest thing that bothers me is that it is so heavy.

There should have been a light on this thing, like the dewalt 20v drills have on them (the new extremely bright ones.

☆Update. Because this saw is so easy to use, I don’t care about how heavy it is.
