With the TEKTON 16-Ounce Jacketed Fiberglass Brass Hammer, this is the best way to use it.
These can stamp letters on metal, but the results aren’t very good. This is what you need to do. My ‘E’ was bigger than the rest of the letters, so I had to make it bigger. Some of the letters were more “sharp” than others, and when they were stamped deeper, it was clear. Some letters were a little off in height, even though I used a jig to make sure the stamp was perfectly perpendicular. This meant that some letters were stamped deeper in some areas and less in others.
However, even though they don’t look very good, they are still very useful. I used everything from 6061 and 7075 T6 aluminum to 1018 CR steel to stamp the letters. The letters are readable and do their job. I mostly use them to label things, like custom tools, so being pretty isn’t one of the things I look for in this set. If they looked better, I could use them for other, more artistic projects, but I wish they looked better.
