To help me finish my porch, I bought this belt sander. If you sand for about 6 to 8 hours, it did the job and never broke down. Many things could go wrong.
There is no way to get rid of the dust. A “vent” is a place that lets dust out. I even hooked up a shopvac and it did nothing – the dust goes out the front and sides, not where it should. I would stop every 15 minutes and blow the whole thing out with the shopvac.
2) The belt adjustment is really nice – but only because the belt goes out of whack constantly. I know this is a pretty common issue with belt sanders, but you have to adjust it every few minutes – especially as dust collects in the nooks and crannies.
