As of now, the bag just keeps falling off. There is a good chance that I will end up drilling holes and riveting my base to it. It’s not clear to me why this company doesn’t use magnets. They work very well. I went from 4 stars to one.
So I’ve had this for a few days. Before I did this project, I had to cut up a lot of pressure-treated wood. A good product like this one is great, but even the most expensive two-stage vacuums with HEPA filters can’t get all of the dust. I think the company is being truthful. With a vacuum or shop vac connected to this bag, you might be able to get 90% of the dust out.
As far as I can tell, there’s no problem with Velcro sticking to the bottom of the table saw. A lot of the other reviews say that people aren’t happy about this. As long as you use some kind of degreaser and clean the surface you’re sticking Velcro to, you’ll be good. However, do I think that magnets would be better than other things at this. No, they would not. Because they give you a plug, you don’t have to connect a vacuum if you just want to rip or cross cut a few pieces of wood.
As it is, I will say that it’s not cheap. Still, it’s a good thing to have on any table saw. If you don’t have a vacuum, I suggest that you clean the dust out a few times a week. I’ve already dropped my arbor into a bag of sawdust. It wasn’t easy to find, but I had a magnet to help me find it.
I would tell a friend to try this. I’d probably tell them about it, show them the good and the bad, and let them decide. I’m not excited about it.
