In reply to MG: all my three grinders are ‘normal’ lefty to undo, anticlockwise when looking at the end of the spindle. 2 have spindle lock buttons, one has a sencond spanner that locates on flats on the spindle between the disc and the casing. You shouldn’t need a hammer – unplug…then check again that its unplugged, then engage spindle lock or locate spanner on spindle flats.
