The Oscillating multi-tool only gets 4 stars from me because I didn’t get all the extras that it was supposed to come with at the time I bought it. Amazon sent me a replacement right away to see if it came with all the extras, but it still didn’t come with everything it said it did. After that, they did me a good deed by giving me store credit so I could buy the extra accessories I was missing (like blades), so they did a great job with this mistake. So in a few more days, I had the whole set.
This oscillating multi-tool has been in use for a long time now, since it came. This tool hasn’t let me down when I’ve done some work at home. This is the kind of tool that really helps you deal with problems that other tools like a circular saw or jigsaw can’t do as well as this one can. . There are some things to keep in mind. I’ve only used it for wood and drywall projects so far.
There is a lot of power in the tool, and it can be used in many different ways. So that is a good thing because I can easily get the blades I need to do the job.
Some ideas for WORX.
For some reason, I thought that the wrench was permanently attached to the machine, like your Sandeck (sander) [WX820L] did. If their next version is like that, I hope so. Use a quick-change method like some other brands. You could also get rid of the need for a wrench (i.e. DeWalt).
Adding a magnifying lens to the LED light might help make it brighter (it’s too dim for my taste). I was working on some projects in very low light, and the LED was not bright enough for me to use. It was almost like it wasn’t worth having.
A feature that blows away the dust on the front of the blade would be great, too. We don’t have to use our breath to do it.
I like that it comes with a bag that you can use to carry it and all of its accessories. What’s missing is a way to store the blades and other things in the bag. I think that having the blades and the tool all in the same place will cause the tool to get scratched up when I’m on the road and so on.
Because this tool should never be sold with a 1.5 Ah battery, it should never be sold. It doesn’t last long charged, you get like maybe 15 mins. of continuous use. I would recommend anything higher than the 2.0 Ah battery, perhaps best the 4.0 Ah battery for a full day use — that is what I use. . FYI: originally the unit was being advertised to include the 2.0 Ah battery, but it came with the 1.5 Ah battery and really a deal killer for me — hence why the 4 star rate. :-.
Oh, and please offer your 6.0 Ah battery to be more affordable. It’s pricier than the competition for the same Ah size battery for their tools. A real deal killer for me.
