I picked up a £29.99 cordless angle grinder as I already had a 4Ah battery and charger that came with the £59.99 400nm impact gun. Just having a battery angle grinder is not any kind of offence. I’ve got a 240v grinder I already I was buying this cordless grinder based on the quality of the impact gun.
It even said on the box recommended battery 4Ah but lidl decide to sell you an under powered 2ah battery instead which it places right beside the cordless grinders with no batteries included. If like me you need the grinder on the day you brought it then the 2Ah battery will get the job done eventually but rather than waiting for lidl to stock the 4Ah battery that they recommend you use I brought one from amazon. Since putting the new 4Ah battery on the grinder it now works like it is supposed to not only is the grinder more powerful but it runs for a lot longer too between charges.
No, get a moderate quality 4 1/2″ grinder instead. 9″ machines have a scary gyroscopic effect – if you’re not an angle grinder fan, then a 9″ will put you right off. The idea of “Selling on” one’s angle grinder sounds simply bizarre. The trailor is made from fairly ‘serious’ angle iron but I’m sure a combination of using the smaller grinder with a hacksaw and a sledgehammer will get there eventually… worth knowing that the main use for the larger size would be for masonry, ta.
